This two day course is composed of cadaver demonstrations including a series of lectures.
Topics include:
- Introduction to comprehensive postlaryngectomy rehabilitation
- Basic aspects of the voice prosthesis range
- Hands-on session, practicing voice prosthesis replacement and use of accessories
- Speech rehabilitation and patient demonstration
- Local aspects of voice prosthesis rehabilitation
- Local clinical results and applications of the new “Vega” voice prosthesis
- Pulmonary rehabilitation; basic physiology & clinical research
- Olfaction rehabilitation and patient demonstration
- Patient demonstration of voice prosthesis insertion and replacement
- Surgical techniques
- Cadaver dissection total laryngectomy with primary TEP
- Patient demonstration of freehands, HME’s & stoma valves
