			  <title>Registrar Presentations at NZSOHNS 2011 ASM</title>
			  <link>http://www.orl.org.nz/news/registrar-presentations-at-nzsohns-2011-asm</link>
<description>There will be a very large International ORL-HNS meeting to be held in Auckland in March, 2011.
Guest Faculty will include people from the very top echelons of our Specialty, in each of the following subsecialty areas: Otology, Rhinology, Paediatric ORL, Head and Neck, Facial Plastics, Sleep Medicine and Laryngology.
The call for abstracts is now open (visit www.asia-oceania2011.org ) and submissions from trainees in NZ will be viewed very favourably. There is an opportunity to present a paper in the presence of the most prestigious ORL Specialists in the World (visit the website and google their names, if you like).
This is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for NZ Otolaryngology trainees. If we receive an abstract from a NZ registrar before 31 August, it will be considered for the Registrar Prize, and will be assured of a relatively prominent place in the program. After that date any abstracts received will just go into the mix, and take 'pot luck' as to where they fit in the program. That often leads to a small audience, with few if any &quot;big names&quot; present. The abstract submission process allows for a situation whereby the 'final' results of data analysis are not available; the topic, aims, methods and preliminary results should provide sufficient information to allow assessment of the material for suitability for presentation and to attract interest for conference delegates.
