Otolaryngologist (ENT Consultant)

Contract: Fixed term (12 months, starting June 2019)


An opportunity exists for a general otolaryngology surgeon to join our team of otolaryngology specialists for 12 months.

The Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) service provides for the management of disorders of the ear, nose and throat, and associated head and neck conditions. ENT provides a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient service for the greater Wellington region including the Hutt Valley, Mid Central and Wairarapa. 

As a senior medical officer, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of clinical practice and expertise to the patients under your care. It is essential that you are eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will be known by your peers as someone who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary environment, being able to engage with a number of different people from various backgrounds. You will also be expected to participate in the supervision and instruction of junior doctors within the service.


  • Vocationally registered in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • Fellowship of the RACS (FRACS) in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery or equivalent and be able to register for specialist registration with the MCNZ
  • Relevant training and experience
  • Have a current driver's license
