The Team

The Otolaryngology Department at Christchurch Hospital provides a complete range of secondary and tertiary services to Canterbury and other areas in South Island, with a secondary referral population base of 550,000, tertiary referral population base of one million. Services are provided on an inpatient, day patient and outpatient basis and are integrated with the Audiology Department.

The Role

Are you our next Otolaryngology Fellow? This is a full-time, 12 month, fixed-term position starting in July 2020.

You would have to be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

You will be joining a large team with 12 Consultants, 5 Registrars, 2 House Officers and various medical students. There is full Audiology support in clinics and there are multiple other Allied Health Professionals linked to our service. Multiple Multi-disciplinary clinics are run every week dealing in subspecialty areas. This position involves a mixture of independent and supervised surgical operating lists and Outpatient clinics. Our centre is the single largest ORL unit in New Zealand with a large component of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. This is a busy unit which is well known for being a "Consultant run" service, there are always multiple colleagues available for support and Mentorship.
