  • Live the lifestyle and do your best work!
  • Invercargill, Southern New Zealand
  • Permanent, full-time

For some it's the slower pace of life; for some it's the quick access to Central Otago, the vineyards, the fishing and boating, the skiing; for some it's having an affordable life-style block but only being minutes from town; and for some it's just a great place to bring up a family and breathe some fresh air. What will your reason be to join us?

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced consultant ENT Surgeon to join our Surgical Services team at Southland Hospital, one of the newest hospitals in the South Island of New Zealand, providing modern and easily accessible facilities for staff and patients. Southland Hospital is the base hospital for a wide geographical area and set of diverse communities, creating enormous scope for variety in the work of a talented professional like you. There's no better place to take a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our ENT service further. It's a great time to join us - summer is coming!

While this is a generalist position with an on-call responsibility, there is scope to develop sub-specialty interests which would be well supported. Whilst you will be the sole ENT practitioner on site at Southland Hospital, we are aiming to have a second ENT surgeon join you. Nevertheless, you will be supported by the clinical leader and your colleagues from Dunedin Hospital. Seeing a full range of patients in this role will have you performing procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, middle ear surgery, facial skin cancer surgery and paediatric ENT procedures, while all major head and neck surgery is currently carried out at Dunedin Hospital.
