About the opportunity

We are now looking for an experienced Otolaryngologist to join our Surgical Services team at Southland Hospital, one of New Zealand's newest hospitals. This fixed-term 6-12 month position is generalist with on-call responsibilities. Southland Hospital, providing modern and easily accessible facilities for staff and patients, is the base hospital for a wide geographical area and set of diverse communities, creating enormous scope for variety in the work of a talented professional like you. You will be the sole ENT practitioner on site and will be supported by the clinical leader and colleagues from Dunedin Hospital, who also undertake clinics at Southland Hospital. Seeing a full range of patients in this role will have you performing procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, middle ear surgery, facial skin cancer surgery and paediatric ENT procedures, while all major head and neck surgery is currently carried out at Dunedin Hospital.

About you

You must have completed your specialist training to make you eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. An attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance are on offer for the right candidate.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that from 1 November 2017 it will be the requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible so as to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
